Product description
Background
Keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) is a high molecular weight, copper-containing
protein. It is found in the hemolymph of the sea mollusk Megathura
crenulata.
This extracellular respiratoryprotein has many immunostimulatory
properties, including the ability to enhance the host’s immune
responseby interacting with T cells, monocytes, macrophages,
andpolymorphonuclear lymphocytes. Since its discovery, KLH has been used
primarily as a carrier for vaccines and antigens and as adjuvant
treatment in regimens such as antimicrobial therapy.
Quantity: 50 ug; equivalent to around 50 Western Blots (for
lower amounts please inquire)
Immunogen: purified KLH (keyhole limpet hemocyanin),
whole molecule. KLH is a commonly used carrier for peptide coupling in
antibody production
Type of antibody: polyclonal: Antibody format:
affinity purified, present in PBS pH 7.4, lyophilized
Tested applications: ELISA, Western Blot,
immunohistochemistry;
Notes: Antibody can be used as a negative control to determine signal
specificity of the serum.
