Description

Anti V5-tag polyclonal antibody is developed in goat using a synthetic peptide of 14 amino acids (C-GKPIPNPLLGLDST) conjugated to maleimide activated KLH via an N-terminal cysteine as immunogen. The peptide corresponds to amino acids 95~108 of non-structural protein V and to RNA polymerase α subunit (P protein), of Paramyxovirus SV5. The antibody is an IgG fraction of antiserum. Anti V5-tag reacts specifically with V5 tagged recombinant fusion proteins expressed in transfected mammalian cells or from in vitro translation. The antibody may be using in immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation techniques.

Immunogen

Goats were immunized with a synthetic peptide representing amino acid residues 95 to 108 (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) of RNA polymerase alpha subunit of simion virus 5 conjugated to KLH. Antibody was isolated by affinity chromatography using the peptide immobilized on solid support.

Specificity

Goat Anti V5-tag detects (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) tag fusion protein.

Concentration

1 mg/ml in PBS (pH 7.2) with 0.1% Sodium Azide. Frozen liquid.

Storage

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of shipment. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Aliquot will be stable at 4°C for 3 months.

Applications

Western Blots: Colorimetric detection: 1:1,000~1:10,000, Chemiluminescent detection: 1:1,000~1:30,000.
ELISA: Coating: 1:100~1:500, Primary: 1:1,000~1:30,000.
Immunochemistry: 1:100~1:400.
Other applications:In some cases, the antibody may be diluted further than indicated.

Note

Briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container's cap because small volumes of antibody will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage.
